Immigration Cops to Mayor de Blasio: New York Is No Sanctuary from ICE Raids

Despite New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio’s proclamation that NYC is a ‘sanctuary city,’ the New York Police Department (NYPD has told federal immigration officials about immigrants facing deportation who are due to appear in criminal court.  Now apparently the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is telling the nation they don’t recognize de Blasio’s authority to create a sanctuary for criminal aliens. And on Tuesday they gave Mayor de Blasio a demonstration of their resolve.

A rapist and illegal alien from Guyana is among the 31 foreign nationals arrested during a three-day operation conducted by officers with ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO). The officers were in New York targeting criminal aliens, illegal re-entrants, and immigration fugitives.

While immigration activists and many Democratic Party officeholders claim illegally entering the U.S. is not a serious crime, according to federal immigration laws, re-entering the country after being removed is a crime punishable by up to 20-years in federal prison.

According to a former NYPD police officer, despite Mayor de Blasio’s — whose real name is Warren Wilhelm, Jr. — pronouncements and veiled threats, numerous members of the city’s super-sized police department are said to be communicating off-the-record with their Homeland Security Department counterparts including ICE agents. “De Blasio should have thought twice when he made the NYPD the target of his racial tirades,” said retired police sergeant Jacob Bronstein. “He’s one of those politicians who believe the path to victory at the polls is to anger minorities against whites and police,” Bronstein noted.

ICE vehicleDuring the three-day dragnet 30 fugitive aliens possessed disturbing criminal histories such as prior convictions for sex crimes, drug offenses, and fraud. One of those captured by ERO officers faces a pending dangerous drug charge as well as a federal order of removal. Others taken into custody during the operation included a Guyanese national with a prior conviction of Rape in the third degree; and a Honduran felon arrested in the city’s Bronx County whose criminal record includes a sexual assault that injured a minor.

“The operation, conducted by ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), targeted criminal aliens who pose a public safety threat and individuals who have violated our nation’s immigration laws, including those who re-entered the country after being deported and immigration fugitives ordered deported by federal immigration judges,” according to ICE officials in a press statement.

“Some of the individuals arrested during the enforcement action will be presented for federal prosecution for re-entry after deportation, a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison. Those not being criminally prosecuted will be processed for removal from the country. Individuals who have outstanding orders of deportation, or who returned to the United States illegally after being deported, are subject to immediate removal from the country,” officials confirmed..

“Law enforcement operations like this should reassure the public that ICE is committed to putting public safety first,” said Thomas Decker, field office director for ERO New York. “Those who come to the United States to prey upon our neighbors and communities will be prosecuted for their crimes and ultimately returned to their home countries.” Decker stopped short of declaring Mayor Bill de Blasio’s sanctuary claims as being null and void as far as the Trump administration in concerned.

The arrestees (29 men and 2 women) included illegal aliens from 13 countries – Mexico (6); Dominican Republic (5); Guatemala (4); Honduras (4); El Salvador (3); Trinidad (2); Colombia (2); Korea (1); Pakistan (1); Indonesia(1); Nepal (1); Haiti (1); and Guyana (1).

Queens and Suffolk (Long Island) Counties accounted for the largest number of arrests during the operation, but ERO personnel conducted enforcement actions in a total of 10 communities.

The law is the law……Why do these Sanctuary Cities want to protect illegal immigrants? Many of these illegal immigrants have committed horrific crimes. Why are these Sanctuary cities NOT STANDING UP FOR OUR AMERICA AND FOR ALL THE AMERICAN CITIZENS AND THE LEGAL IMMIGRANTS? YES, WHAT ABOUT OUR LEGAL IMMIGRANT WHO HAVE COME TO OUR NATION LEGALLY, CONFORMING TO OUR LAWS AND PAYING AMOUNTS OF MONEY THROUGH THIS PROCEDURE AND THEN BEING QUESTIONED THOROUGHLY WITHIN PART OF THEIR FIRST MONTHS WITHIN OUR COUNTRY….THEY RESPECT AND HONOR OUR CONSTITUTION AND THEY DO WANT TO BECOME CITIZENS OF OUR COUNTRY AND SUPPORT OUR COUNTRY NOT DESTROY IT……POSSIBLY THE IMMIGRATION SYSTEM NEEDS CHANGES TO REFLECT FAIRNESS TO ALL, BUT AT THIS TIME THE LAW IS THE LAW AND OUR LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES SHOULD BE DISPLAYING AND EXAMPLE TO OUR YOUNG PEOPLE AND TO ALL PEOPLE AND ESPECIALLY PROTECTING AND DEFENDING OUR CONSTITUTION AND KEEPING THE AMERICAN PEOPLE AND LEGAL IMMIGRANTS FROM HARMS WAY. OUR NATION CANNOT REMAIN A NATION, MUCH LESS PROSPER AND BE RENEWED WITHOUT LAWS BEING UPHELD….OUR NATION WAS ALWAYS EXAMPLE TO OTHER NATIONS….THIS MUST BE RENEWED IN ORDER FOR OUR GOD GIVEN FREEDOMS, LIBERTIES AND RIGHTS TO BE INITIATED AND PRACTICED BY ALL WHO DO DESIRE TO PROTECT AND DEFEND OUR CONSTITUTION.

God Bless and protect our America and God Bless and protect and guide President Trump and his Administration.

Suzanne, you hit the nail right on the head: We are a nation of laws, not a nation ruled by the whims of sleazy politicians. Ask most cops and they’ll tell you that America has lost its way.
