Under Clinton, IRS may ‘draft’ local cops to catch tax cheats

Democratic Party presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has made a name for herself in the Black community by bashing law enforcement officers by calling them racists. During one speech, she likened local police in minority neighborhoods to the Islamic terrorist group ISIS. But now her Democratic Party wants cops to help the IRS fleece the American people.

While the Obama Administration curtailed local police agencies’ enforcement of immigration law and the capture criminal aliens, President Barack Obama proposed using local cops to help the Internal Revenue Service enforce its tax laws, according to U.S. lawmakers.

Do the American people want fully armed police officers being tax collectors for an arguably corrupt government?

In the past, Steven Miller, the deputy IRS commissioner for services and enforcement, told the Senators on the Finance Committee that the increases in tax fraud and tax evasion as well as identity theft are major factors in the Internal Revenue Service’s senior management considering using local cops to enforce some tax laws. This will entail sharing tax return information with them.

“This would be the biggest insult to the American people since there’s no chance local police officers would go after suspected tax cheats who possess political power including the likes of New York Congressman Charlie Rangel or Rev. Al Sharpton,” said Police Officer John Trantano. “And forget about the fat cats connected to the Clinton or Bush families,” the veteran cop added.

While the IRS-local police operation was put on hold, it’s believed that should Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton become the President and her coattails manage to create a Democratic majority in the U.S. Senate, she will push for Obama’s proposed program either by having the Senate Majority Leader introduce legislation or through a unilateral executive order.

Tax return information should be normally treated as top secret by IRS management and staff — except it appeared when it came to conservative groups seeking tax exemptions — but the IRS is considering a special program in which suspicious tax files may be shared with city and state police departments.

However, a number of police officers frown on this proposed enforcement activity. “We police officers are busy enough without being used to collect taxes for the federal government even if fraud was involved,” said Officer Edith Consorta of New York. “Democrats have some nerve even thinking about asking for our help after the statements made by Obama and Clinton about law enforcement,” she added.

During a speech Hillary Clinton gave in front of the NAACP, she compared cops to ISIS terrorists. She’s also made it obvious she will go even further in bringing illegal aliens into the U.S.  “We’re prevented from going after illegal alien lawbreakers, but we’re going to go after American citizens who try to keep more of their own money? That smacks of police state tactics,” said Consorta.

But, according to Deputy Commissioner Miller, the IRS identified and prevented the issuance of over $14 billion in fraudulent refunds in just one year’s time. Identity theft is a subset of this overall refund fraud. Since 2008, the IRS has identified close to 500,000 taxpayers who were affected by identity theft.

In addition to criticizing the IRS plan to use local police in their search for tax money, several officers said they found it hypocritical to have the head man at the Treasury Department oversee the IRS when he himself was involved in questionable conduct that would have resulted in punishment for perjury by most Americans.

Meanwhile, Virginia’s former Attorney General called Obama and his administration “the biggest lawbreakers to run the federal government in our lifetimes,”

Ken Cuccinelli, the popular GOP prosecutor and spokesman, appeared on C-SPAN’s Newsmakers program and, as usual, exhibited extreme candor in discussing President Barack Obama and his White House. “This president and his administration are the biggest lawbreakers to run the federal government in our lifetimes,” said Cuccinelli as if he were stating the obvious.
