Christmas Miracle? Muslim bus passengers protect Christians from Islamic terrorists in Obama family’s nation
In a surprising twist to news stories emanating from Kenya, Muslim passengers aboard a bus traveling close to the Somalia border protected the Christians riding the same bus from a band of Islamic terrorists affiliated with either al-Qaida or Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). The passengers were men, women and children who faced being killed by members of the treacherous Al Shabaab network, which is known as Somalia’s al-Qaida affilate.
Two people were killed during the attack by the jihadists who ambushed a bus enroute to Mandera in northeast Kenya. The bus and most of the passengers originated in Kenya’s capital city of Nairobi. While not known members of Al Shabaab, U.S. President Barack Hussein Obama’s family members in Kenya are Sunni Muslims with ties to radical groups in the Middle East.
A former Israeli intelligence officer and American police officer, Phillip Morgenstern, told Conservative Base’s Jim Kouri that Al Shabaab members have split their allegiance with some allying with what’s known as core al-Qaida — the group once headed by Osama bin Laden — while others are allied with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) which has grown enormously over the last two years.
Besides the two murdered by the jihadists, another six people were wounded in the attack that took place 95 miles south of the bus’ destination, Mandera, located close to the war-torn Somali border. According to Morgenstern, the Islamists ordered the passengers to exit the bus at gunpoint. “They then conducted their usual practice of separating Muslims from non-Muslims, whom they label infidels. However, the supposed Muslim passengers refused to separate themselves from those suspected of being Christians, which obviously surprised the radical Muslim killers,” Morgenstern told Kouri.
Kenya has been hit by a long series of attacks over the last few years mostly led by Al Shabaab, al-Qaida’s East Africa affiliate. Although the majority of the Kenyan population are Christians, Al Shabaab is known to be striving to control Kenya through violence. It is also a known fact that U.S. President Barack Obama’s Kenyan clan is part of the Muslim movement to gain the same goals as Al Shabaab through funding and recruitment of African students by paying for them to attend madrassas in Saudi Arabia, known to be havens for radical Islamic imams.
That included the main elder of the Obama family, Malik Obama, President Obama’s half-brother who works for the government of North Sudan directly under Sirwar Dhahab, one of Omar al-Bashir’s henchmen from Al Shabaab.
“Those who refused to identify themselves as Muslims sent a very important message of the unity of purpose, that we are all Kenyans,” said Kenya’s Interior Minister Joseph Nkaissery. “The attackers have frequently spared Kenyan Muslims while torturing and killing Christians.”

Presidential hopeful, Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Florida, on Thursday said the U.S. government should provide more funding to aid Christians being persecuted abroad. “Reports suggest that the State Department is ready to designate the Islamic State’s terror against the Yazidis as genocide, which it clearly is, but they might not … do so for equally embattled Christian communities. This is only one part of a refusal to come to grips with the full weight of these facts,” the Florida senator wrote in a Christmas Eve message.
