Trump Blasts CNN As a Member of the Democratic Party for Fake Airport Security Story
President Donald Trump blasted his nemesis CNN, calling it “a proud member of the Opposition Party,” in response to the network’s recent report about TSA staffing issues amid the partial government shutdown.
While CNN is attempting to assist the Democrats by blaming Trump for the government shut down, law enforcement officials claim the CNN story is just more of the same “fake news” Americans have come to expect from the decidedly left-wing news organizations CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC and NBC.
Great Tweet today by Tyler Q. Houlton @SpoxDHS on the #FakeNews being put out by @CNN, a proud member of the Opposition Party. @TSA is doing a great job!
Houlton, who serves as the Department of Homeland Security’s press secretary, tweeted about the CNN story on Friday, “More #FakeNews from @CNN. Security operations at airports have not been impacted by a non-existent sick out. CNN has the cell numbers of multiple @TSA public affairs professionals, but rather than validate statistics, they grossly misrepresented them.”
CNN’s news story states: “Hundreds of Transportation Security Administration officers, who are required to work without paychecks due to the partial government shutdown, have called out from work this week from at least four major airports, according to two senior agency officials and three TSA employee union officials.” But, as is usual in today’s political climate, CNN fails to identify the “two senior officials” or the “three TSA employee union officials.”
CNN also gave the call-out figures at New York’s JFK International Airport, Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, and two airports in North Carolina.
According to CNN’s unidentified sources, the causes for the TSA absentees include protests over delayed salary disbursements and the TSA’s failure to cover child care
The TSA has since issued a statement about the CNN report, acknowledging an increase in call outs but also arguing that the issue is “causing minimal impact” on security and performance.
“It’s amazing how the Homeland Security Department’s directorates have been repeatedly denigrated by the Democrats and their news media cohorts who frequently criticize the TSA, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, U.S. Border Patrol and other bureaus,” said Iris Aquino, a former police officer and director of security. “But now when they are trying their best at getting Americans to blame the President for the shutdown, they are concerned with protecting Americans.”
