Press Briefing: Justice Department Announces Indictments of More Russians in the Special Counsel Case
Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein held a press conference Friday at 12:10 p.m. (et), with the news media assembled to hear a special law enforcement announcement regarding the indictments of 12 members of Russia’s military and intelligence forces.
These indictments were announced in a manner similar to how Rosenstein called a press conference on a Friday back in February 2018 when he told about the indictments against 13 Russian operatives.
This brings the total number of suspects indicted to 25 and counting.
The Department of Justice has long claimed the Russians intended to interfere with the 2016 presidential election, and all 12 defendants in this latest round of indictments are members of the GRU, a Russian intelligence agency.
The GRU is the Chief Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff, a military intelligence service created in 1924 Soviet Union.
The indictment alleges the defendants began spear-phishing volunteers and employees of Hillary Clinton’s campaign, and were able to steal usernames and passwords, eventually hacking into the networks of the Democratic National Campaign Committee and Democratic National Committee (DNC).
However, when FBI agents requested to see the contents of the DNC’s computer system in order to conduct an investigation of the hacking allegations, the Democratic Party leaders denied the FBI access.
“There is no allegation in this indictment that Americans knew they were corresponding with Russian intelligence officers,” Rosenstein said in his announcement.
The charges come just days before President Trump is set to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki, Finland.
According to the allegations in the indictment, Viktor Borisovich Netyksho, Boris Alekseyevich Antonov, Dmitriy Sergeyevich Badin, Ivan Sergeyevich Yermakov, Aleksey Viktorovich Lukashev, Sergey Aleksandrovich Morgachev, Nikolay Yuryevich Kozachek, Pavel Vyacheslavovich Yershov, Artem Andreyevich Malyshev, Aleksandr Vladimirovich Osadchuk, Aleksey Aleksandrovich Potemkin, and Anatoliy Sergeyevich Kovalev were officials in Unit 26165 and Unit 74455 of the Russian government’s Main Intelligence Directorate.
“So, here we are indicting more Russian operatives who are in top military and intelligence positions, that’s great; but indictments are easy — arrests of foreign officials especially in Russia are practically impossible,” said police counter-terrorism unit commander Stephan Logan.
Logan quickly added, “These Deep State swamp-dwellers want to stop the damage caused by the FBI’s Peter Strzok hearing on Thursday. He was a disaster. Watch for every incident that hurts the Democrats this election season: they will trot out a bunch of indictments against people they know they can’t get like the Russians, or they’ll re-indict someone who is already in their rogue gallery.”

“U.S. Special Counsel Robert Mueller has spent untold millions investigating Russia, President Trump and all things Trump but his latest indictments of 12 alleged Russian operatives lifts language and content from the pending lawsuit of a humble YouTube journalist.
George Webb sued John Podesta in 2017, along with other elected and public officials including Justice Department personnel but today, exact language, accusations and content from Webb’s suit appeared in the Justice Department’s indictment. Beyond strange.
Mueller swiped Webb’s hacking allegations against Imran Awan and simply flipped them — almost word for word — and made the exact allegations against Russian operatives.
How did the exact wording and language from Webb’s civil lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia appear in Mueller’s big criminal Russian indictment?
Is the Special Counsel cutting corners now and simply stealing content from other lawsuits? Even a suit against DOJ personnel? Where is all the money going to then?
This is far from a coincidence, based on an analysis of the two court filings. Who on Mueller’s team plagiarized Webb’s legal filing and tried to mask it as “new” and “breaking” revelations? Seems like a rushed job for sure.
This is a legal sham, complete with Rod Rosenstein’s impromptu press conference on Friday announcing the indictments.
When was Mueller’s new indictments drafted, during Thursday’s House testimony of FBI Agent Peter Strzok? Why would you need to steal content for Russian indictments if your case was well researched and legitimate?
Some slick sleuthing from Twitter investigator @myhtopoeic pinpointed the plagiarism, a practice likewise considered taboo in legal circles — not only the literary arena.”

Crowdstrike’s co-founder Dmitri Alperovitch is a Fellow alongside anti-Trumper Evelyn Farkas at the Atlantic Council, pro-NATO, virulently anti-Russia, sponsored by Soros and Ukranian Clinton donor Victor Pinchuk. It is these people who are trying to cause trouble in the world and trying to set the US against Russia.

In December, CrowdStrike said it found evidence that Russians hacked into a Ukrainian artillery app, contributing to heavy losses of howitzers in Ukraine’s war with pro-Russian separatists.
VOA reported Tuesday that the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), which publishes an annual reference estimating the strength of world armed forces, disavowed the CrowdStrike report and said it had never been contacted by the company.
