Alveda King: An Unlikely Yet Timely Message for Easter

The following message is submitted by Evangelist Alveda King, niece of civil-rights icon Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.:
Depending on your theology, or even lack thereof, we are in Resurrection/Easter season. Rather than address the debates that often ensue around the topic; ie. Did Constantine graft Christian Holy Days onto idolatry ridden feast days? I’m trying to be bold enough to approach the repentance factor that Christ brings to us beyond the Cross and Resurrection.

Dare we consider or even mention a devastating yet all too common practice among saints and sinners in the midst of observance of Easter season which celebrates the birth, ministry, crucifixion and victorious resurrection of Jesus Christ? As the question arises, we might ask another: What better time is there for repentance than Easter? Of course, every time is the right time to turn away from sin. Yet this timely message below cries out to be heard now.

Sadly, there is a taboo #metoo movement in the household of faith. At “#ChurchMeToo Movement: A Prophetic Alert to the Body of Christ,” Johnny Enlow of Santa Clarita, CA writes about sexual abuse in the Body of Christ.

In a few days, little children all over the world will be singing a familiar church song: “He [Jesus] Arose.” Yes, Jesus arose and is alive today, softly and tenderly praying for us to turn away from sin. At AlvedaKing.com we proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ. We also confront the lie of the human race being divided into separate races which breeds the sin of racism. We are not color blind. We are created in living color. Acts 17:26 truly proclaims that we are One Blood.

At CivilRightsfortheUnborn.com we deal with the sin of abortion. Johnny Enlow confronts the sin of sexual abuse. What sins are you battling with or hiding today? Easter is a great time to repent and be reconciled to Christ.

Repent from sin. Return to God!

Much is occurring during this Jubilee season; marked by the number 50. This is the 50 year landmark of the legacy of my uncle, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This is the season of the premier of the life of his brother, my father Rev. AD Williams King.

Ultimately it is the everlasting season to celebrate Jesus!

Happy Easter/Resurrection Day. Please pray for America and the world, every day.
