Talk of Globalist Hedge Fund Executive as Secretary of Navy Concerns Conservatives and Trump Loyalists

Reports from the last few days have revealed a move by some in the Trump Administration  to nominate a globalist hedge fund executive, with little military experience, as the new Secretary of the Navy. This news has alarmed conservatives and Trump supporters.

A recent article by Breaking Defense last Friday identifies Hong Kong hedge fund executive Philip Bilden as the new Navy Secretary front runner. Disturbingly, as the article points out, about the only thing that qualifies him for the position is writing big checks to various military foundations. Other recent actions of the Trump Pentagon are beginning to send shockwaves throughout the conservative movement.  Most notably, Secretary of Defense nominee General James Mattis, recently met with former Obama Defense Transition Chief and Obama Defense Under Secretary Michele Flournoy about being the Deputy Secretary of Defense. Flournoy had been widely considered to be Hillary Clinton’s top choice for Secretary of Defense.

Also, General Mattis has recently asked current Obama Deputy Defense Secretary Bob Work, to stay on at the outset of the Trump Administration. In addition, it was reported last week that the “Mattis Team” has now reached out to President Obama’s current Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development and Acquisition, about the possibility of being Trump’s DoD Acquisition Chief.

Conservatives and Trump supporters have been stunned by these developments. Fortunately, these actions, including that of a possibility of Bilden being the Secretary of the Navy, seem to be confined to just aides around Mattis and others who were “Never Trump” supporters at the outset. ConserivativeBase.com is concerned that the Bilden talk, together with recent outreach to Obama officials, may signal the fact that “Never Trumpers” have already infiltrated the Trump Administration.

It will be up to conservatives and Trump supporters inside the White House to stand tall and ensure that President Trump has a National Security  and Foreign Policy team he can trust and that will execute his policy. The infiltration of “Never Trumpers” into his Administration represents a real problem in implementing his national security and foreign policy agenda.
