Honoring Our Fallen Heroes on Memorial Day: U.S. Senator David Vitter
When we send our American citizens to war, we make a promise to protect them and a commitment to support them when they return home, and Memorial Day serves as an important tribute to the gratitude we owe to those who have paid the ultimate price in preserving and protecting our freedoms. We appreciate your service and your sacrifice – not just on a marked calendar day, but each and every day.
Generations of brave men and women have prepared for war and fought for our country. American veterans and their families have sacrificed for our nation, and we give thanks to those who have fought for peace.
This Memorial Day we remember and honor our fallen patriots and their sacrifices.
One way in which we can continue to honor those who have fought for our freedom and liberty is to honor our living heroes. The veterans who return home deserve all the support we can provide.
As we approach this Memorial Day, Wendy, our kids, and I will honor the lives of our fallen American heroes, and we also offer our biggest “thank you” to our brave men and women in uniform and the sacrifices they make in protecting our freedoms.
I’m interested in hearing your thoughts on these and any other issue important to you. You can contact me at any of my state offices or at my Washington, D.C. office. You can also reach me online at vitter.senate.gov.
