Despite Trump Presidential Order, John Brennan Holds On to His Security Clearance

President Donald Trump attempted to revoke the security clearance of disgraced former CIA Director John Brennan, but was ultimately overruled by the deep state, according to Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) on Tuesday.

Sen. Paul pointed out how this is an indicator of how the shadow government operates. The President’s power is severely limited, democratic elections are mostly for show, and Trump is effectively held hostage to the bureaucratic machinery.

“Now the deep state is actually protecting their own and not listening to the president’s orders,” Paul said on Tuesday.

“I was sitting in the White House when President Trump said I want his security clearance taken, and I saw the order given. I saw the chief of staff was there, not the current chief of staff, the previous chief of staff,” Paul added.

He delivered the news himself to the deluded liberal viewers of CNN:

“If they are working against … the president that really does disrupt our country, does disrupt a representative democracy where the president makes a decision. If someone is countermanding that, I think we need to get to the bottom of that,” Paul said.

But still, there are limits to deep state power, and the intelligence apparatus may have overreached with the bogus Russian collusion probe.

Right now, Brennan is arguing against transparency in an attempt to save himself from being held accountable for actions that Trump commonly refers to as “treason.”

“I see it as a very, very serious and outrageous move on the part of Mr. Trump, once again, trampling on the statutory authorities of the Director of National Intelligence and the heads of the independent intelligence agencies,” Brennan said to MSNBC host Chris Hayes in opposition to transparency.

“And it’s unclear to me what Mr. Barr is actually going to do. Is he investigating a crime? Well, what’s the predication of that crime? Or is he just going to be looking for information?” Brennan asked.

Brennan also said: “This is very serious and I know my former colleagues in the intelligence agencies are looking upon this with great concern and worry.”

Brennan has many reasons to worry. While he does have friends in high places that will protect his security clearances, it does not appear that one of those individuals is Attorney General William Barr. He is dedicated to figuring out the origins of the Russia probe.

“…I want to see, what were the standards that were applied. What was the evidence? What were the techniques used? Who approved them? Was there a legitimate basis for it?” Barr said during an interview with CBS News.

Brennan obviously fears that Barr gets the answers to those questions. The deep state can only protect Brennan for so long, and when he falls, reformers like Paul will not make the landing very nice for the drone-killing spook.
