Polls reveal Democrats, news media distort Americans’ support of illegal aliens

While Democratic politicians, immigration activists and many in the news media give the American people the impression that those who support tough border security and tough immigration enforcement are a small minority, the truth is, according to polls, they are actually in the majority. According to a poll released on Monday,  a majority of U.S. voters claim that they believe that President Barack Obama and the leaders of his administration are strong supporters of illegal aliens, and even more voters say they wish the federal government would impose stiffer penalties on people who hire illegal immigrants or rent housing facilities to those who broke U.S. immigration law to enter and remain in this country illegally.
A new Rasmussen  national survey show that contrary to what illegal immigration advocates say — and is echoed by news outlets — a majority (55%) of likely U.S. voters believe the policies and practices of the Obama administration actually encourages foreign nationals to enter the United States illegally. Meanwhile only 28 percent disagree, while 17 percent claim they are undecided.
In addition, President Obama actions to exempt upwards of five million illegal aliens from deportation proceedings has met with tough opposition in the court of public opinion. Just last week a federal appeals court continued the injunction placed on Obama’s unilateral amnesty plan that was first imposed by a Texas judge in February 2015.
